Make A Decision

The Center for Donation & Transplant follows New York State law in honoring an individual’s decision to donate his/her organs through enrolling in the New York State Donate Life Registry or carrying a signed donor card or driver’s license/state identification card.

If the patient has not documented his/her decision to donate, the patient’s next of kin will be asked for consent to donate.  Discussing end-of-life decisions is an important step in ensuring that your final wishes are carried out. Although you may feel uncomfortable talking about mortality with your loved ones, an open and honest discussion can alleviate many concerns.

Thousands of lives are saved or enhanced by the miracle of organ and tissue donation. By giving the Gift of Life, you allow others to live on through your selfless and heroic decision.
