Donor Remembrance Ceremony
Each year CDT invites families of organ, tissue, and eye donors to their Donor Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony offers both donor families and CDT staff members a time to remember loved ones and honor their heroic acts of giving the gift of life to others.
The ceremony consists of several parts. It opens with a brief welcome from CDT and a brunch, following with several speakers that have historically consisted of recipients, donor families, and hospital leaders that serve as advocates for organ, tissue, and eye donation. A photo tribute is displayed on a large screen of loved ones for those families who wish to share photos at the ceremony.
The event comes at no cost to families, but does require an RSVP. The invitations that are mailed to families include instructions on how to submit a photo for the photo tribute along with instructions on how to make a quilt square.
If you have any questions about the Donor Remembrance Ceremony please contact: Shaina Kaye at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donor Family Picnic
The Donor Family Picnic is held every summer to celebrate the gifts of life given by organ, eye and tissue donors. It allows a celebratory atmosphere for donor family members to come together and honor their loved ones and serves as a peaceful reminder that no family is alone in their donation journey. There are activities for kids and family members of all ages. The day concludes with a beautiful butterfly release.
