The 2019 Amy Bindelglass Memorial Scholarship is now available! The scholarship was founded by the Center For Donation & Transplant (CDT) in memory of a two year-old organ donor who lost her life in an automobile accident. Another young child was given a new chance at life because Amy’s family made the incredible decision to donate her organs.

The Amy Bindelglass Memorial Scholarship will award $750 to the winner of this essay contest. Applicants must be a high school junior or senior who writes a well-thought out, creative submission on the chosen topic. By encouraging students to participate in this scholarship contest, you will give them an opportunity to defray some costs of their college education while also helping us raise awareness of this important issue. Your school will also receive recognition if the scholarship is awarded to one of your students. Please note that the scholarship deadline has changed from previous years. To be considered, essays must be postmarked by Friday, March 29, 2019.

The scholarship is one of several opportunities offered to schools to encourage education about organ and tissue donation. CDT also offers trained staff and volunteers to visit health classes, assemblies and parent-teacher-organizations to talk to the students, staff and parents about organ and tissue donation. All of our presentations are free of charge. We would be happy to work with you or one of your other members to bring one of our programs to your school!
